Terms of Use

Effective Date: May 12, 2026
App Name: Taverna
Developer: Taverna
Contact: taverna.devv@gmail.com

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Taverna, including our mobile application, website, backend services, and related features.

By using Taverna, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the app.

1. Description of the Service

Taverna is a recipe application that allows users to discover recipes, search recipes, view cooking instructions, save recipes to favorites, manage account information, and access subscription-based features.

The app may include:

  • recipe discovery;
  • recipe search;
  • recipe details;
  • ingredients and cooking steps;
  • favorites;
  • account and profile functionality;
  • language preferences;
  • subscription-based features;
  • links to Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

2. Eligibility

You must be legally able to enter into these Terms under the laws of your country or region.

If you use the app on behalf of another person or organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms on their behalf.

3. Account Registration and Security

Some features require an account.

You agree to:

  • provide accurate account information;
  • keep your login credentials secure;
  • not share your account with unauthorized users;
  • notify us if you suspect unauthorized access;
  • use the app only for lawful purposes.

You are responsible for activity under your account unless caused by our failure to apply reasonable security measures.

4. Recipes and Content

Taverna provides recipes, ingredients, cooking steps, cooking times, images, tags, descriptions, comments, and related content for informational and personal use.

Recipe content may be created, edited, translated, published, unpublished, or removed by authorized users.

We may update, modify, remove, or replace recipe content at any time.

5. User Recipes and Community Submissions

Taverna may allow users to create personal recipes within the app. Personal recipes are intended for the user’s own use unless the user chooses to submit a recipe for publication.

By submitting a recipe for publication, you give Taverna permission to review, edit, format, translate, localize, adapt, modify images or other recipe content, and create a separate public version of the recipe that may be visible to other users of the app.

Submitting a recipe does not guarantee publication. Taverna may approve, reject, remove, or request changes to submitted recipes at its discretion.

The public version of a submitted recipe may differ from the user’s original personal recipe. Changes to the personal recipe after submission may not automatically update the public version.

You are responsible for ensuring that any recipe, photo, text, or other content you submit is your own or that you have the necessary rights to submit it. You must not submit content that infringes third-party rights, violates applicable laws, or contains unlawful, harmful, misleading, offensive, or inappropriate material.

Published community recipes may be attributed in a general way, such as “from the Taverna community,” unless another attribution method is provided in the app.

Taverna may remove or modify published user-submitted content if it violates these Terms, our content standards, or the quality, safety, legal, or product requirements of the app.

6. Artificial Intelligence Content

Some content available through Taverna may be generated, translated, summarized, enhanced, categorized, or otherwise assisted by artificial intelligence technologies.

While we make reasonable efforts to review and improve content quality, we do not guarantee that AI-assisted content is accurate, complete, current, safe, error-free, or suitable for any particular purpose.

Recipe instructions, ingredient lists, cooking times, allergen information, dietary information, nutritional information, translations, tags, descriptions, comments, and related content may contain inaccuracies, omissions, or unintended errors.

Users are responsible for independently verifying all recipe content before relying on it.

7. No Professional Advice

Recipes, cooking instructions, ingredient quantities, cooking times, images, tags, descriptions, comments, and related content are provided for general informational purposes only.

Taverna does not provide medical, nutritional, dietary, allergen, food safety, or professional cooking advice.

Taverna does not guarantee that recipes are suitable for any specific dietary requirement, allergy, intolerance, medical condition, pregnancy-related restriction, religious requirement, or food safety requirement.

You are responsible for checking and verifying:

  • ingredients;
  • allergens;
  • food labels;
  • expiration dates;
  • storage conditions;
  • food safety;
  • preparation methods;
  • cooking temperatures;
  • dietary suitability;
  • health-related restrictions.

You should not rely on Taverna as a substitute for professional advice, especially if you have allergies, medical conditions, dietary restrictions, pregnancy-related restrictions, or food safety concerns.

You are responsible for safe food handling and for determining whether a recipe is appropriate for you and anyone you cook for.

8. Favorites and User Data

If you are logged in, you may save recipes to favorites.

Favorites are linked to your account and can be added or removed by you.

We may limit, modify, or remove favorites functionality if necessary for security, maintenance, legal, operational, or product reasons.

9. Subscriptions

Taverna may offer paid subscription features, including Premium access.

Subscription features, prices, billing periods, free trials, renewals, cancellations, and refunds may depend on the platform where you purchased the subscription.

For iOS users, purchases are handled through Apple App Store.

For Android users, purchases are handled through Google Play.

We do not control Apple or Google billing systems.

Subscriptions may automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period, according to the rules of the platform where the subscription was purchased.

Your account may be charged for renewal before the end of the current billing period, according to Apple App Store or Google Play rules.

You are responsible for managing or canceling your subscription through the platform where you purchased it.

Deleting the app or deleting your Taverna account does not automatically cancel an active subscription purchased through Apple App Store or Google Play.

Subscription access may depend on successful payment confirmation from Apple App Store or Google Play.

10. Refunds

Refunds for purchases made through Apple App Store are handled by Apple according to Apple’s refund policies.

Refunds for purchases made through Google Play are handled by Google according to Google Play’s refund policies.

We do not control Apple or Google refund decisions.

Where technically possible, we may help investigate subscription status or access issues, but we cannot issue refunds for purchases processed by Apple or Google unless the relevant platform allows us to do so.

We may suspend or revoke access to internal functionality at any time if we believe access is being misused or creates security, legal, operational, or product risk.

13. Intellectual Property

The app, design, software, backend, database structure, logos, trademarks, images, texts, recipe descriptions, curated recipe content, and other content are owned by us or licensed to us, unless stated otherwise.

Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of any intellectual property rights to you.

You retain any rights you may have in content you submit to Taverna. However, by submitting content for publication, you grant Taverna a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, translate, adapt, publish, display, distribute, and create derivative works from that content for the purpose of operating, improving, promoting, and providing the app and its recipe content.

14. User Feedback

If you send us feedback, suggestions, bug reports, or ideas, you grant us permission to use them without restriction or compensation, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

15. Availability and Changes

We may update, suspend, discontinue, or modify the app or any feature at any time.

We do not guarantee that the app will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or compatible with every device or operating system.

16. Third-Party Services

The app may rely on third-party services, including Apple, Google, database providers, storage providers, hosting providers, analytics providers, payment infrastructure, and other infrastructure or platform services.

We are not responsible for third-party services, outages, policies, pricing, terms, billing decisions, or technical issues.

Your use of third-party services may be subject to their own terms and policies.

17. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time.

We may suspend or terminate your access if:

  • you violate these Terms;
  • you misuse the app;
  • your account creates security, legal, operational, or product risk;
  • required by law or platform rules;
  • the service is discontinued.

Termination of your Taverna account does not automatically cancel active subscriptions purchased through Apple App Store or Google Play.

You must cancel subscriptions through the platform where you purchased them.

18. Disclaimer of Warranties

Taverna is provided “as is” and “as available.”

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, reliability, and security.

We do not guarantee that recipes will meet your expectations, dietary needs, health requirements, taste preferences, cooking conditions, or safety requirements.

We do not guarantee that recipe content, ingredient quantities, cooking times, images, translations, or other content will always be accurate, complete, current, or error-free.

Our total liability for any claim related to the app will be limited to the amount you paid to us for the app or subscription during the period allowed by applicable law, unless a different limit is required by law.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under mandatory consumer protection laws.

If you are a consumer, this does not limit any rights you may have under mandatory consumer protection laws of your country or region.

Any disputes will be handled by the courts or dispute resolution bodies of Ukraine, unless applicable law gives you the right to bring claims elsewhere.

22. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

If changes are material, we may notify users through the app, website, or other appropriate means.

The updated Terms become effective when posted, unless stated otherwise.
